2. Exercising
It is important to exercise at least 2-3 days a weeks and a minimum of 30 minutes at a times, to get your heart rate going above normal. It also gets the circulation going, blood and lymphatic systems moving and better flushes the system with movement.
Exercise can be walking, biking, swimming, hiking, yoga, pilates, weightlifting and so on anything to get your body moving. If you just sit around the body starts to tighten up, muscle start to shorten and you can lose your flexibility and when that happens injuries occur easier. So get out and moving!
If you have not been active in a while always consult with your Doctor before started any exercise program!!!
3. Hydrate!!
Take your bodyweight and divide into half. This gives you the number of ounces of water you should be drinking in a day. Example; if your bodyweight is a 150lbs. divided by 2 = 75oz. of water you should drink in a day.
But the more active you are the more you need to consume. On another note water is much better than the sugary sports drinks especially if you are on a diet.
If you drink coffee and/or soda you must also increase your water intake by the same amount of cups you drink of these liquids. They actually dehydrate you.
4. Stretching
Its not just for a warm up or cool down in your work out regiment.
Everyone needs to stretch at least 30 minutes per day. Best in the am when you wake up.
It increases your flexibility and reduces injury. By focusing on the back on the legs you will have less back problems with stretching every day.
